Chef Alexander G. Ashley Jr. was raised in Coyote Canyon, New Mexico, and is a Navajo Marine Corps veteran and graduate of the CNM Culinary Arts program. Guided by a passion for service, community, and faith, he founded Bidii Chidi—“The Vehicle for People Who Love Food”—to create memorable culinary experiences inspired by the flavors of home. Together with his wife, Charity, and their children, Riley, Elijah, and Alexander III, he is dedicated to connecting people through food, tradition, and heritage.
Taste your way through the Indigenous Foodways Festival with seven curated bites from a diverse group of Indigenous chefs and food businesses representing a range of culinary traditions, regions, and perspectives. Participants will receive one signature tasting from each featured vendor, offering a sampling of Indigenous ingredients, ancestral knowledge, and contemporary Native cuisine. Ticket includes general admission, museum admission, and seven tasting tickets.
